New Vintage Church: A Complete AVL System for an Expanded Sanctuary
When New Vintage Church expanded its sanctuary in Richland, Washington, the room needed more than a collection of equipment upgrades. The larger space required even audio coverage, clear visuals, reliable video production, flexible lighting, and infrastructure that could support the church for years to come.
Qohr designed and installed the audio, video, lighting, LED, networking, and control systems as one coordinated church AVL project.
The Challenge
A sanctuary remodel creates an important opportunity to plan infrastructure before walls, flooring, and finishes are complete. Speaker locations, LED wall structure, projector sightlines, cable paths, floor pockets, equipment racks, power, networking, and control all needed to be coordinated with the expanded room.
The goal was not simply to add more equipment. New Vintage needed a complete system that would provide consistent coverage, support worship and teaching, simplify weekly operation, and remain flexible for future growth.
What Qohr Designed and Installed
Church Audio System
The audio system was built around RCF HDL26-A line-array loudspeakers with RCF SUB9006-AS subwoofers, side fills, and front fills. This combination was selected to provide more consistent full-range coverage throughout the expanded seating area while maintaining clear speech and the impact needed for live worship.
An Allen & Heath mixing console and stage rack gave the production team reliable control, flexible routing, and room to support a growing worship environment.
Curved 2.6mm LED Wall and Projection
A curved 2.6mm LED wall became the visual centerpiece of the room. The tighter pixel pitch supports clear lyrics, sermon content, and video at the sanctuary's viewing distances, while the curved layout follows the shape of the stage.
Dual projectors supplement the LED wall and help distribute content across the room without forcing every visual element onto a single display.
Video and Broadcast Workflow
A Blackmagic Design video system supports routing, image magnification, broadcast, and livestream production. The video workflow was planned alongside the LED wall and projectors so content can move cleanly between in-room displays and the online service.
Stage and House Lighting
Elation and Chauvet fixtures provide key light, color, and flexible stage looks for worship, teaching, and special events. Fixture locations, rigging, power, and control were coordinated with the audio and video systems so the lighting supports both the room and the cameras.
Infrastructure, Networking, and Control
Qohr designed the floor pockets, equipment racks, cable paths, networking, rigging, power coordination, and system control around the renovated space. Planning these details during construction helped avoid visible cabling, difficult service access, and expensive changes after the room was finished.
The Result
New Vintage Church now has one connected AVL system serving the expanded sanctuary. Audio coverage is more consistent, the curved LED wall gives the room a clear visual anchor, video and lighting work together for in-room and online audiences, and the production team can operate the system through a coordinated workflow.
The project shows why AVL planning should begin early in a church remodel. Decisions about infrastructure, rigging, power, sightlines, and control are easier and less expensive to solve before construction is complete.
