Reign Church: Replacing Projection With a 60-Panel LED Wall
Reign Church in Vancouver, Washington needed a sanctuary display that would remain visible when stage lighting was on. Their existing projection system could not provide the brightness and contrast the room required, causing lyrics and video content to appear washed out during services.
Qohr replaced the projection system with a 60-panel LED wall and integrated the new display into the church's existing video workflow.
The Challenge
The new display needed to fit an existing stage without requiring a major building renovation. It also needed to remain accessible for future service, work with the church's current video equipment, and provide clear content at the room's viewing distances.
Because the wall would become a permanent visual element in the auditorium, the support structure, power, data, processing, cable paths, and long-term maintenance plan all needed to be considered before installation.
What Qohr Installed
60-Panel 2.97mm LED Wall
The completed wall uses 60 front-serviceable Qohr Q-Panel cabinets with a 2.97mm pixel pitch. The pitch was selected to balance clarity, wall size, viewing distance, and project budget.
Front-serviceable cabinets allow LED modules and internal components to be reached from the stage side. This eliminates the need for a large rear-access cavity and makes future service more practical within the existing room.
Ground-Support Truss
The wall is mounted on a ground-support truss system rather than relying on the existing building structure for a flown installation. The support system was coordinated around the stage footprint, wall dimensions, and service access.
NovaStar Processing and Video Integration
A NovaStar VX400 processor drives the LED wall. Qohr configured the processor, completed the wall's data and signal wiring, and calibrated the finished display for consistent operation.
New SDI cabling connected the LED system to Reign Church's existing video infrastructure. Integrating the wall into the church's established workflow allowed the production team to keep familiar content and control processes instead of rebuilding the entire video system.
Installation Around the Church Schedule
The installation was coordinated around Reign Church's weekday schedule and the room's availability. Power, staging space, equipment delivery, assembly, configuration, and final testing were planned so the system could be completed without unnecessary disruption to ministry activity.
The Result
The sanctuary now has a large visual surface that holds its brightness under stage lighting and provides clearer lyrics, scripture, graphics, and video throughout the room.
The front-serviceable cabinets and ground-support structure also give the church a practical path for future maintenance. Most importantly, the LED wall works as part of the existing video system rather than as a separate display that requires an entirely new Sunday workflow.
