LED wall dimensions

What does a square meter mean for an LED wall?

A square meter is the surface area of the screen: width times height. One is about 10.76 square feet, so a 12 m² wall is roughly 129 square feet: about 15 feet wide and 8 and a half feet tall at 16:9. Measure your own wall in meters and multiply to get your number.

Wall area is one of the first things to work out, because it tells you roughly how much LED the room needs. A wall is built from identical panels, so as it gets larger the panel count, the structure carrying it, and the power it draws all rise with it. That is why the ranges above are grouped by size.

Area tells you how big the wall is, not how sharp it looks. That is pixel pitch, the distance between pixels, and it is why two walls the same size can land at different prices. In general, the closer people sit, the finer the pitch needs to be.

Package and project

A wall is more than its panels.

A 12–23 m² sanctuary wall is about 129–248 sq ft. On a 16:9 screen, that is roughly 15.2 ft wide by 8.5 ft tall at the small end, up to 21.0 ft wide by 11.8 ft tall at the large end. For a wall that size, plan on $22,000–$39,000 for the equipment package and $42,000–$49,000 for a complete Qohr project. These are planning ranges, not proposals.

The equipment package is the hardware: panels, the video processor, spare parts, the support or mounting pieces that the wall needs, and cases where they are called for. The complete project adds the rest of the work: design and engineering, the structure that carries the wall, electrical and data coordination, installation, calibration and commissioning so the image is right and the system is proven working, training, and logistics.

When you compare quotes, check that they cover the same scope. A price for panels alone is not the same as a price for a wall that is engineered, installed, and proven working.

Why the same-size walls differ.

Size is only the starting point. These parts of the design shape the final project cost.

Wall size, panel family, and pitch

How big the wall is sets how many panels it takes. How those panels are built, and how tightly their pixels are spaced, decides which panel family suits the room and how much detail the wall can show.

Structure and mounting

The wall can hang on a wall, hang from the structure above, or stand on its own frame. Each one takes different hardware and different coordination, and the building and the stage decide which is right.

Processing, cameras, and spares

If the wall will be on camera, the processing has to be more precise. Spare panels from the same production batch, and a properly built signal path, keep the wall dependable week to week.

Access, power, and data

Getting equipment into the building, reaching the wall later to service it, the electrical capacity you have, where cable can run, and whether the network is ready all affect how the system is prepared and installed.

Logistics

Shipping, travel, scheduling, room readiness, and coordination with local trades can move the final project figure.

Pixel pitch

Choose for the closest viewer.

Pixel pitch is the distance from one pixel to the next, measured in millimeters. A smaller number means a finer image up close. The closest viewing distance, what you put on the wall, and camera use should guide the choice.
